Lore & Background
The club was founded on 18 March 1900. It is the amateur team of the professional club AFC Ajax from Amsterdam. The team was promoted from the Eerste Klasse to the Hoofdklasse ahead of the 2011–12 season. Following the 2013–14 Hoofdklasse season, the team was promoted to the Topklasse, but after one season they finished 14th and were relegated back to the Hoofdklasse.
In Their Own Story
The rain turned the grass near Oosterpark into a slick, brown sludge as Han Dade wiped sweat and mud from his brow. Around him stood a ragtag squad of students, their breath visible in the grey afternoon air, illuminated only by the distant hum of Amsterdam waking up. 'We don't need rich backers,' Dade declared, his voice cutting through the damp chill. 'We just need the ball and each other.' Just weeks prior, they had inked their names at a local notary, turning a shared daydream into legal reality. As the first whistle blew for an informal match, leather boots churned the earth, sending mud splattering onto dark shirts. Amidst the laughter, the heavy breathing of young men chasing a worn sphere, and the sheer chaos of the moment, the future giants of Amsterdam were nothing more than boys playing a game they loved.
